Domains
Explanation:
Registering a Domain Name means that you have a name for your
Web Site that either matches or reflects your Business. For example there is a big
difference between:
www.mickdale.com (Full Domain)
and
www. spiderweb.com.au/~mickdale (ISP member site as a casual user)
The obvious advantages of a Full Domain is that it is shorter to type in for your
customers, AND it is YOUR NAME ! - No mention of the ISP where your site is hosted.
The other main advantage is that it is yours. Even if you changed ISPs, you can take your
Domain with you, thereby keeping the name and email address intact. Other types will
change (along with their email addresses) if you change ISPs.
There are some variations available for Domain Names depending on:
1. Your Business type ( Company, Reg.Business, Sole Trader etc)
2. If you are a Non-Profit Organisation
3. If you are a Club or an Association.
(contact us for details)
Registering a Domain must be done through a Registering Authority, and incurs a
registration fee payable to that Authority every one or two years.
Once registered you will need to have it Hosted...... Click here for info
You can register your own Domain, or we can register it for you ...
Take advantage of our "bundled"
packages, and we pay for the domain name registration!
